DEVONthink To Go 2.6.4 supports iOS 12 and iPhone XS Max

20. September 2018 — Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann

This week Apple officially released iOS 12 with many under-the-hood changes. DEVONthink To Go 2.6.4 has just become available on the App Store and brings some necessary adjustements for Apple’s new operating system version as well as for the iPhone XS Max.

But that’s, of course, not all. With DEVONthink To Go 2.6.4 we’ve improved the workflow when creating, grouping, or searching for items. Documents now use the easier-to-read San Francisco font, and headers in item lists are better legible. On the sync side version 2.6.4 takes the guesswork out of using shallowly synchronized databases while the device operates as a Bonjour sync server at the same time. Informative texts and warnings explain which settings might have unexpected effects.

Note: We believe in sustainability and work hard to make sure our software runs even on older but otherwise perfectly fine devices. However, from time to time you have to let go to move forward. This time we needed to cut compatibility with iOS 9, we’re afraid. DEVONthink To Go works on all devices running iOS 10 or later back to the iPhone 5S, iPad Air, and the iPod Touch (6th generation).

You can find the complete list of all changes always inside the app (tap the question mark button on the first screen). We recommend this free update to all users. Update your copy through the App Store app or receive the update automatically, depending on your App Store settings.
