December Updates

December 5, 2019 — Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann

Thanksgiving and the Black Friday weekend are just over and here’s already another round of updates for our DEVONthink and DEVONagent product lines.

DEVONthink 3.0.3 brings improvements in getting data in and out of the application, with, e.g., some more support for other email clients when sending messages via smart rules and improved clipping from browsers. A new smart rule script detects dates and amounts in documents and assigns them to metadata. This is used by a new command for compiling expense reports.

Version 3.0.3 also improves the already extensive automation options with new scripts and abilities and refines the user interface as well as the keyboard navigation of the sidebar. The update also addresses several issues and a few crashes.

DEVONagent 3.11.3 is a maintenance release which improves date parsing while searching and updates the plugins for searching Clinical Trials and the Apple Listserv. It also fixes a crash related to highlighting occurrences in PDFs on macOS Mojave and later.

Finally, DEVONthink To Go 2.7.6 improves the reliability and performance when synchronizing via iCloud, allows special but not mandatory groups be trashed or put back, and no longer automatically plays videos. It also launches explicitly in light mode to avoid issues with text being hardly readable while we are preparing full dark mode support.

You can find a complete list of all improvements in the built-in help of the applications. We recommend these free updates to all users of DEVONthink, DEVONthink To Go, and DEVONagent. Get them directly by using the apps’ update functions, our Download page, or the App Store. DEVONthink To Go 2.7.6 will become available as soon as it has passed Apple’s review.
