DEVONthink 3.5.2

August 12, 2020 — Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann

Today we’ve released the DEVONthink 3.5.2 with the first changes for macOS Big Sur and running natively on Apple silicon and Intel processors.

We have also made the synchronization more efficient, use less cloud or disk space, and resume interrupted syncs more reliably. A new submenu lets you open new windows directly from the Dock icon. Import bookmarks from the Brave web browser and check bookmarks for validity via a new smart rule action. The sidebar received some more love from us, too, and so did the Reading List.

Other enhancements include better handling of nested tags and Prism syntax highlighting for Python, Perl, and PHP. See Also & Classify works more precisely for documents like email messages with no text but only image attachments. Clicking file links no longer launches the default application if the linked file is part of the database.

In addition we’ve improved importing files and folders exported from ELO Office and made clipping PDFs from Google Chrome more reliable. Background tasks save battery life by switching the graphics mode on some MacBooks.

You can find a complete list of all improvements by choosing Help > Release Notes inside the application. We recommend this free update to all users of DEVONthink 3. Get it by using the application’s update function or from our Download page.
