If you want to sell or buy digital originals, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are the way to go. NFTs are stored on the secure Ethereum blockchain and serve as the digital proof that a linked digital asset belongs to whoever owns the wallet that holds the token.

Twitter and 1Password have already added NFT support. And as you as DEVONthink users are heavy-duty creators of digital documents, the next updates for DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go will include built-in support for creating and sharing NFTs via OpenSea, the largest marketplace for NFTs. The created tokens contain a robust item link to the asset in your database, which serves as the vault for the digital master.

But it also works the other way round: You can download and store digital assets, for which you own an NFT, in DEVONthink. This ensures that even if the original, like the Jack Dorsey tweet you purchased, goes away, you have a secure copy that is indistinguishable from the original.
