Where to Find More About AI?

As more people explore accessing external AI in DEVONthink, questions arise about how to use it. Here are two helpful resources about using AI.

In the Getting Started chapter of the built-in Help or user handbook, read the AI Explained and AI in Practice sections. There you get an introduction to the technology and things to consider, as well as some practical examples you may want to try. These sections provide an honest and balanced description of how it specifically works within our application.

For more general use, you can find many online tutorials about AI. However, Anthropic, the makers of the excellent Claude AI, has now published a small course on the topic: AI Fluency. This covers what generative AI is and how to write prompts. It discusses how to determine if using AI is appropriate for a task. And very importantly, how to thoughtfully consider the responses you get and the behaviors you see. This goes beyond the flashy hype of AI and gives a useful but responsible perspective on generative AI.
