DEVONthink 2.10.2 Supports macOS Mojave
Into this week’s maintenance release for DEVONthink and DEVONnote we’ve packed support for Fujitsu’s new ScanSnap Home application, a modernized web server, compatibility adjustments for macOS Mojave, and more.
ScanSnap Home replaces the former ScanSnap Manager. Our new version of DEVONthink Pro Office recognizes also scans sent to it from ScanSnap Home and converts them to searchable PDF documents if needed. We’ve also updated the built-in webserver so that it makes better use of fast network connections. Especially if you have multiple Mac or PC users connecting to your databases via web sharing you’ll feel the difference.
Other improvements include better import from Evernote, Yojimbo, and Postbox, enhanced drag-and-drop with e.g. Tinderbox, and better support for EPUB metadata. If you’re doing a lot of research you’ll notice that jumping to search hits in documents with highlighted text is easier too. Finally, DEVONthink 2.10.2 lets you import databases from sync locations simply by double-clicking them in the sync preferences.
Important: On January 1st, 2019, Box will deprecate their WebDAV support. Therefore, DEVONthink 2.10.2 removes the sync location templates for Box. Existing setups will, of course, continue to work until Box finally pulls the plug. On a similar note we’ve also removed the MagentaCLOUD template. Unfortunately we can no longer recommend MagentaCLOUD as it proved to be too unreliable for serious sync work.
We recommend everyone using these two services to migrate to one of the numerous other options like iCloud, Dropbox, CloudMe, a privately run WebDAV server (e.g. a Synology DiskStation), or direct connections on the local network.
You can find the complete list of all changes always inside the app (Help > Release Notes). We recommend these free updates to all users. Get them directly by using the apps’ update function or from our Download page. If you purchased DEVONthink or DEVONnote in the App Store, update your copy through the App Store app or receive the update automatically, depending on your App Store settings.
