DEVONthink 2.9.9 Imports Notes from Apple Notes

January 26, 2017 — Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann

If you’re an Apple Notes user but would like to move completely to DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go now, this update is for you. DEVONthink 2.9.9 adds an option for importing notes and attachments from Apple Notes. It honors the folder structure in Apple Notes and uses formatted notes to preserve formatting in a future-proof format.

But that’s, of course, not all. We’ve rewritten the fullscreen text editing and made importing UNIX email mailboxes with DEVONthink Pro Office easier. Version 2.9.9 comes with an improved synchronization too. On the macOS Sierra bugfixing side, DEVONthink is again able to display encrypted PDFs on macOS Sierra. PDF note annotations are visible once more, and the border of text annotations can be removed. The updates also fix issues related to scanning as well as further minor glitches.

DEVONnote also received some love with the better fullscreen text handling, minor usability enhacements, and improved overall reliability.

We recommend these free updates to all users. Get them directly by using the apps’ update function or our Download page. If you purchased them in the Mac App Store you’ll receive them as soon as they’ve passed Apple’s review.
