Christmas Updates
With the new Apple Silicon Macs bringing great speed paired with long battery life it’s time for us to update more of our products for Apple’s great new architecture. Here’s some news for DEVONagent, DEVONsphere Express, and EasyFind. We are also updating DEVONthink To Go with bug fixes and preparations for the arrival of version 3.0.
DEVONagent 3.11.4 brings fixes and improvements, including support for Apple Silicon Macs. Preview or display a slideshow of selected search results via Quick Look, and find up to 10,000 results with search sets. To help find related web pages, the See Also inspector now uses a page’s keywords. Version 3.11.4 also supports importing bookmarks from the Brave browser and improves RSS feed handling for increased compatibility with certain sites, e.g., Google Alerts.
DEVONsphere Express 1.9.5 and EasyFind 5.0.1 bring compatibility with Apple Silicon Macs too. DEVONsphere also includes minor cosmetic changes for macOS Big Sur and improves the indexing and caching. EasyFind now includes Markdown files as a default type for content-based searches and improves searching for multiple tags.
And finally, we’re releasing (one of) the last maintenance update(s) for DEVONthink To Go version 2. DEVONthink To Go 2.7.8 prepares its data store for version 3.0, which has been in the works for a while and will become available as a new, separate app in the App Store in due course. A welcome screen will inform you about the arrival of DEVONthink To Go 3.0. The update to 2.7.8 also brings those bug fixes over from version 3 that don’t depend on larger changes to the database or app structure, or would make the app incompatible to iOS 11 and 12. We have updated the PDF library and MultiMarkdown support, too, and brought the sync on par with the latest DEVONthink for Mac release.
You can find a complete list of all improvements in the built-in help of the applications. We recommend these free updates to all users of DEVONagent, DEVONsphere Express, EasyFind, and DEVONthink To Go. Get them directly by using the apps’ update functions, our Download page, or the App Store.
While we have an internal release date for DEVONthink To Go 3 we don’t publish it yet as there might be unforeseen delays caused, e.g., by factors out of our control. We are not releasing it before the Christmas holidays, though, as we want to be available for customer support when we put it into your hands. Version 3 will also bring changes to the licensing model but we are not yet disclosing them at this point in time as we might make adjustments until the final release.
