How We Use Your Data
We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order. Payment details are collected by Paddle, our third-party partner that handles the checkout. Paddle only lets us know that and how much you paid but never forwards any payment details.
For Providing Customer Support
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
For Sending Our Newsletter
You can register with our website if you would like to receive our newsletter with updates on our products and services. Information you submit on our website will not be used for this purpose unless you fill out the registration form. You can opt-out at any time from your customer account.
Mass email that we send might contain tracking code which lets us tell if the recipients read the message, which links they clicked, and from which IP address. We do not use this information for anything other than learning about what topics and links were the most useful for our readers.
For Improving Our Website
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our web site but do not share this information. We do this with Matomo which we host ourselves. Please feel free to use utilities like Ghostery to block our tracker.
As we use Matomo for improving our website we do not use the web server logs directly. We do keep them, however, for reference. We might inspect them or share them with authorities should there be signs of illegal use of our web site or web services. We might also use them to identify and solve technical problems with our services.
How We Don’t Use Your Data
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
We store data during syncs and to improve our apps
How Our Software Uses Your Data
Our software never shares your actual data with us. The data you add to and keep in our applications is stored locally on your devices and at no point in time uploaded to servers run by DEVONtechnologies.
Data Used by the Synchronization
The technology used by our software to synchronize data between devices transfers data directly between two devices or uses file servers or cloud services provided by you. All data transferred or stored externally is encrypted if you entered an encryption password. The privacy policies of the entities running the file servers or cloud services apply for all data stored on an external server or service.
For providing synchronization push notifications we maintain a list of records consisting of:
- An anonymized device identifier (UID)
- The unique identifier (UUID) of a sync store
- The UUID of a database in that sync store
- Information about the app edition and beta status
- A timestamp.
Nothing of this can be backtraced by us to a named user. We collect the app edition and beta status to send the data to the correct server at Apple and the timestamp to delete records that haven’t been used in a while. The actual push notification is sent via the Apple Push Notification service.
Data Clipped Through Our Web Service
Data clipped from the web and sent to our decluttering service will be converted on the fly to the requested format and sent back to the requesting device. Only the URL of the requested public web page is sent to the server, and no data received or sent by our server is stored.
Data We Use to Improve Our Software
If you purchased our software in the App Store and agreed to sharing data with developers we receive anonymized usage statistics and crash logs from Apple.
We do our best to protect our systems
Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. Our database servers use secure connections to communicate with our other systems and take extensive measures to prevent access to customer-related information without physical access.
We protect children
Our Commitment to Children Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. We never collect or maintain information at our web site from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our web site is structured to attract anyone under 13.

How to Access or Correct Your Data
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we keep by logging into your user account or contacting us and providing proper means of identification. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information either directly on your account pages or by sending us a request that credibly shows error.
To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
Our software and processes comply to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our representative in the European Union is Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann.
