If you need to merge some documents in DEVONthink, select all the documents you want to concatenate and choose Data > Merge from the main menu. Alternatively there’s also a contextual menu command for it. (more)
Day in and day out, we look at the same apps and folders on our machines. Same stuff, different day. Many of us have files from word processing applications, like Word or Pages, in our databases. These kinds of files are proprietary and not editable in DEVONthink. However, you can preview them. But what if you need to copy some text from one of them? Do you need to fire up your word processor just to make a quick copy of some text? (more)

And here’s something else you may not have known… On DEVONthink To Go’s home screen, you can go into the trash for a specific database. Long press or left-swipe a record and choose Put Back to return it to it’s original location. You can also tap the Edit link, select several records, and choose Put Back from the Organize menu. If you use our browser extension, Clip To DEVONthink, you’ll see a notification after a successful clip. If you check the Notification Center, the icon of three lines on the right side of the menubar at the top of your screen, you can see a record of those clips. Up to a week’s worth should be available to browse. In High Sierra, clicking on the message should open the record in DEVONthink. (more)
Highlighting is a great way to isolate information in a body of text. However, sometimes you want to segregate that data even further by using different highlight colors. In DEVONthink’s Format > Highlight Color menu you”ll find seven available colors to choose. But maybe a few of those colors don’t suit your taste, or you have a specific color scheme you use elsewhere. (more)
