In DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go, you’ll see fields for a username and password in the properties of a database. These are the database credentials. While it looks like they would lock a database from access, they don’t. Here is, what they are actually for. (more)
When it comes to syncing DEVONthink or DEVONthink To Go, people are sometimes unsure of how to set up sync locations. If you’re using an iCloud sync, there’s only one option: all databases sync to one location. But if you’re using another sync option, you may want to approach it differently. (more)
If you are collaborating with others and using Dropbox as a DEVONthink sync location (never putting your database in a Dropbox or automatically cloud-synced folder), it is not possible to sync between Dropbox accounts. In the recent weeks we have released both DEVONthink’s new sync feature as well as a rewritten web interface for DEVONthink Pro Office as public betas via my blog. If you installed the plugins but are still unsure if you really exploit their potential check out our two new screencasts. Thirteen minutes well spent. Ray demonstrates how you can work on one database with multiple users on the local network and how you set up sync locations, e.g Dropbox, and keep your databases synchronized on all your machines.
